Waverly Public Library Butterfly Garden
Waverly Public Library Butterfly Garden
Waverly, Iowa
Completed: 2008
A delightful garden was designed with butterflies in mind. The garden utilizes sculpture to illustrate the four stages of a butterfly’s life: Egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and adult.
The garden also provides much-needed habitat for butterflies. The flowers yield nourishment and the garden provides a safe place for caterpillars and their chrysalis.
The gardens, like the library, are a place where human curiosity is at home and encouraged to explore and grow.
