Who we are and what we do

Established in 1948, Align Architecture & Planning, PLC is a registered mid-size architectural firm located in downtown Waterloo, Iowa. As a multi-disciplinary team of design professionals, Align Architecture & Planning offers quality, client-centered architectural, planning and construction administrative services throughout Iowa and surrounding states.
 
Over the years, ownership of the firm has transitioned from one generation of architects to the next and this strong history of generational ties has continued the founder’s commitment to excellent service while building on the diversity of services we are able to provide. Our firm has successfully completed over one-thousand projects, ranging in scope and type. Our projects include religious and educational facilities, historic renovation, commercial, residential, landscape designs and, an area of special expertise, continuing care retirement communities and senior housing.
 
The firm is managed and owned by architects Mardy Holst, Andrew Bell, Jacob Bauer, and Brian Walker.
