Walker Building (Union Block) - 112-118 East 4th Street
Waterloo, Iowa Completed: 2009 The former 15,000 sf three-story Walker Shoe Store was fully renovated and updated to meet the current Life Safety Codes. This was accomplished through the addition of two new stair towers and elevator shaft. The upper two floors were converted to an insurance office that combines modern finishes with the building’s existing materials and charm. The main level is used as retail space. The building's original facade was removed many years ago but the appearance has been restored with an exterior finish and insulation system. |
