Larry grew up in Iowa but following graduation from Iowa State University in 1981 with his Landscape Architectural Degree, he moved to San Francisco, CA. There he worked in various locations in the Bay Area with clients of many cultures and income levels on a wide range of projects in the public and private sector. He values the collaboration between artist and Architect on projects that include residential home remodels, water fountains and pools, city parks, cable car turnarounds, to name a few. In 1999, Larry returned to Iowa and joined the team at AHTS, adding his expertise as Landscape Architect. He became partner in 2005.
Larry and his wife, Joyce, also returned to Iowa so that they and their three children (now all grown) could be close to family. He is a past president of Cedar Valley Arboretum but now enjoys tending to their farm with 14 acres of wildflowers and prairie grasses. He’s an avid river explorer, having canoed and kayaked throughout the state’s waterways. He is also a sports fan and enjoys an occasional game of golf.
